Please note: Chesterfield Little League (CLL) may choose not to offer this division.

If not offered, 13-year-olds may play in 50/70 or Seniors.

14–16-year-olds will be eligible for the Senior Division.
The Junior Division is designed for:
Games are played on a standard baseball field:
SEASON
Spring Season: Early March through early June
Fall Season: Early September through early November
GAMES

Minimum of 12 regular-season games (Fall season: 6–8 games)

Weeknight games typically begin at 7:30 PM (may start earlier)

Saturday games usually between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (some night games)

Game length: No new inning after 2 hours 30 minutes

End-of-season playoff tournament

Sunday afternoons/evenings (after 1:00 PM) reserved for makeup games

Participation in interleague play with other local Little Leagues (home and away)

CLL provides:
Metal cleats are permitted.
PLAYING EQUIPMENT
Parents must provide:

Personal bat and helmet
All bats must have USA Baseball or BBCOR certification (see Little League bat rules).

Junior Baseball FAQs
Q: Do you keep score and are there umpires?
A: Yes. Managers maintain scorebooks, league standings are tracked, and playoff seeding is determined accordingly. A home plate umpire is provided.
Q: What size field do they play on?
A: Games are played on a regulation Little League field with 90' bases and a 60' 6" pitching distance.
Q: Can my child play with their friends?
A: Not automatically.
Players participate in a skills assessment, followed by a draft.
Players eligible for multiple divisions may be placed in a lower division based on demonstrated skill level during spring assessments. CLL strives to place each player in the most appropriate and competitive environment.
Q: Can I manage or coach a team?
A: Yes, if positions are available.

Prospective managers must complete an online application.

Coaching interest should be indicated during spring registration.

All managers and coaches must be approved by the CLL Board of Directors.
Q: Will my child play every inning?
A: Not necessarily.
No player will sit twice until all players have sat once.
This rule does not apply to starting pitchers and catchers.
