Tee Ball 1 (Ages 4–5) FAQs

Q: Do you keep score and are there umpires?
A: No. Tee Ball is focused on teaching fundamentals only. Games are self-umpired by volunteer managers and coaches.

Q: Can I manage or coach a team?
A: Yes, if positions are available. Prospective managers must complete an online application. Coach interest can be noted during your child’s Spring registration. All managers and coaches must be approved by the Chesterfield Little League Board of Directors.

Q: What kind of baseball is used?
A: A soft-core baseball is used to help prevent injury and support learning.

Q: Will my child get to play every inning?
A: Yes. All players are on the field defensively each inning, and every player bats each inning.

Q: What are the volunteer requirements?
A: CLL is a 100% volunteer-run organization. Help is always needed with registration, team parenting, picture day, opening night activities, post-season tournaments, and concession stand operations, among many other opportunities.
