Division Description - Coach Pitch - Tee Ball (Tee Ball 2)

Coach Pitch – Tee Ball (Tee Ball 2) (5–6-Year-Olds)

Eligibility:

For players League Age 5–6 with limited experience in coach pitch Tee Ball.
A 7-year-old with no prior experience is also eligible if rookie coach pitch seems too advanced.

Gameplay:

Players attempt to hit from a coach each at-bat.
If they miss 5 pitches, they complete the at-bat from a tee.
Players build on development from Tee Ball 1 and begin learning base running concepts.

Season

Spring: Early March – Early June
Fall: Early September – Early November

Games

Each team plays 10–12 games per season (6–8 games in Fall).
Weekday games typically start at 6 PM.
Saturday games generally scheduled between 9 AM – 5 PM.
Game length: Approximately 1 hour

Practice

Practices are held once on a weekday and once on a weekend for 3–4 weeks prior to the season.
Additional practices may occur during the season at the manager’s discretion.

Uniforms

CLL provides jersey, hat, and spring pants.
Spring jerseys include names and numbers; Fall jerseys have numbers only.
Parents must provide athletic shoes. Rubber cleats are optional.

Playing Equipment

Parents must provide:
- Ball glove
- Batting helmet
- USA Baseball-certified Tee Ball bat (Bat Rule)

Team Structure

Teams usually consist of:
- 10–12 players
- 1 volunteer manager
- 2 volunteer coaches
- 1 volunteer team parent

A: No. Games are self-umpired by volunteer managers and coaches. The focus is on teaching fundamentals.

A: Yes, if positions are available. Managers must complete an online application. To serve as a coach, indicate this on your child’s spring registration. All managers and coaches require approval from the Chesterfield Little League Board of Directors.

Q: What kind of baseball is used?
A: A soft-core baseball is used to prevent injury and provide a safe learning environment.

Q: Will my child get to play all the time?
A: Yes. All players will play on the field defensively and bat each inning.
