Why Should I Become a Volunteer?
Little League Baseball and Softball is built on developing strong character and good citizens. It’s a leadership program designed to prepare today’s youth to become tomorrow’s leaders.
At the local level, Little League depends on dedicated volunteers to keep the league structured, organized, and running smoothly. Volunteers should have a genuine interest in the safety, well-being, and overall development of children.
The benefits of volunteering are endless — for the players, for families, and for you.
Who Can Volunteer?
Anyone can apply!
Across the country, volunteers include:
Parents
Grandparents
Siblings
Aunts and uncles
Retirees
Community leaders
Former Little Leaguers
Friends and neighbors
All parents of players are strongly encouraged to volunteer. Serving as a volunteer allows you to spend quality time with your child in a safe, fun, and positive environment. It creates shared experiences and meaningful memories.
Please note:
All volunteers must complete an application.
Background checks are required each season.
On rare occasions, Little League (through District Administrators and the local Board of Directors) may deny volunteer privileges if necessary to protect youth participants.
How Do I Become a Volunteer?
You may:
Complete the volunteer form during your child’s registration, or
Request a volunteer application directly
All volunteers, including coaches and board members, must complete a background check each season.
What Can I Volunteer To Do?
No experience is required. Most volunteer roles require little to no prior training. The league provides guidance, support, and encouragement.
Volunteer opportunities extend far beyond what you see during games — you can help in nearly every aspect of Little League Baseball or Softball.
